Best for: Iconic Uttarakhand touring, Mussoorie, Tehri Lake, mountain road trips
The roads connecting Dehradun to Mussoorie (35 km), Dhanaulti (60 km), and Tehri Dam (110 km) feature dramatic elevation gains, tight hairpins, and sudden altitude shifts. While automatic scooties are wonderful for relaxed city travel and gentle slopes, a 350cc motorcycle offers distinct advantages for serious hill touring:
Royal Enfield’s 349cc engine produces 27 Nm of peak torque at just 4,000 RPM. This means you do not need to rev the engine high to scale steep inclines like the Mussoorie Bypass or the steep ascent from Kempty Falls to Nainbagh, even with a pillion passenger.
Coming down mountain passes requires caution. On an Enfield, rolling down in 2nd or 3rd gear provides natural engine resistance that preserves brake pads, prevents brake rotor overheating, and prevents hazardous brake fade.
With a curb weight of ~181 kg (Hunter) to ~195 kg (Classic), Enfields feel planted on high-speed stretches along the Haridwar-Dehradun expressway and absorb unexpected road surface undulations comfortably.
The Classic 350 features a wide, supportive pillion seat with an ergonomic grab rail or backrest, ensuring your travel partner remains comfortable across full-day rides.
The quintessential Doon climb via Rajpur Road, Kolhukhet, and Picture Palace. Scenic viewpoints overlooking Doon Valley.
Mussoorie Riding Guide →Dense pine and deodar forests, cool alpine breeze, Eco Park, and clear views of the high Himalayan snow peaks.
Dhanaulti Extension Tips →Riverside twists, quiet village roads, and refreshing water pools. Ideal for a relaxed half-day morning ride.
Local Sightseeing Guide →Whether you want a budget commuter or need vehicle handover right at your arrival terminal:

Yes! Royal Enfield motorcycles are built for Himalayan terrain and easily handle the steep gradients, hairpin turns, and high-altitude climbs of Mussoorie, Dhanaulti, Kanatal, and Tehri Dam. We advise using lower gears (2nd & 3rd) for engine braking on steep downhill descents.
One standard ISI-certified helmet is provided free of cost with every booking. A secondary pillion helmet is available upon prior request, subject to availability.
