HoodiBaba Rental Terms & Guidelines
Please review our rental requirements and operational policies prior to booking. These guidelines ensure safe, legal, and pleasant journeys across Uttarakhand.
1. Rider Eligibility & Documentation
- Minimum Age: The primary renter must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driving Licence: You must present an original, physical Driving Licence valid for two-wheelers issued by an authorized RTO in India, or an International Driving Permit (IDP) accompanied by an original foreign licence for international visitors. Learner's licences are strictly not accepted by law.
- Identity Proof: One original government-issued photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID) must be shown at the time of vehicle handover for physical verification.
- Active Mobile Number: A working WhatsApp and phone number is required for trip communication and roadside coordination.
2. Rental Charges & Calculation Cycle
- 24-Hour Day Cycle: Rentals are calculated strictly on a 24-hour basis starting from the agreed handover time (e.g. 11:00 AM on Day 1 to 11:00 AM on Day 2 constitutes one rental day).
- Starting Rates: Scooties start from ₹500/day*, motorcycles start from ₹800/day*, and Royal Enfield rentals start from ₹1,500/day*. Rates are seasonal and vary depending on model selection and rental duration.
- Unlimited Kilometres: All rentals include unlimited kilometres within Uttarakhand. Ride without daily distance caps, subject to vehicle safety, valid licence, and standard terms.
- Pickup & Transit Delivery: Customers can normally collect their vehicle directly from our Malsi location (A-307, Forest Residency, Malsi, Dehradun, opposite Haldiram and within walking distance of Dehradun Zoo). We are open 24×7—contact us by phone or WhatsApp to coordinate your pickup. Transit delivery near Dehradun Railway Station or ISBT may be available for an additional charge, subject to prior coordination.
- Payment Modes: Full rental payment is collected in advance at vehicle handover via UPI, Cash, or Direct Bank Transfer.
3. Security Deposit & Refund Policy
- Security Deposit Status: A security deposit is generally not required. If applicable, the amount will be confirmed before booking.
- Refund Timeline: When a deposit is collected, it is refunded promptly upon vehicle return, subject to vehicle condition inspection and confirmation of no unpaid traffic challans.
- Deductions: Deductions from any applicable security deposit occur only in cases of vehicle body damage, missing tools/helmets, severe fuel deficits, or active traffic violations incurred during the rental tenure.
4. Fuel Policy
- Fuel Not Included: Rental prices do not include petrol. Vehicles are delivered with sufficient fuel to reach the nearest fuel station.
- Return Fuel Level: You are requested to return the two-wheeler with approximately the same fuel level as recorded at pickup.
5. Safety Gear & Helmets
- Complimentary Helmet: One standard ISI-certified helmet is provided free of charge with every booking for rider safety.
- Pillion Helmet: A secondary helmet for a pillion passenger can be provided upon advance request (subject to inventory availability).
- Mandatory Law: Riding without a helmet in Uttarakhand carries heavy police penalties and invalidates basic road safety. Both rider and pillion must wear helmets at all times.
6. Late Returns & Extensions
- Grace Period: We provide a 30-minute grace period to account for unexpected mountain road traffic or weather delays.
- Extensions: If you wish to extend your rental duration, please notify us via WhatsApp at least 4 hours before your scheduled drop-off time. Extensions are granted subject to next-renter availability.
- Unauthorized Late Returns: Unannounced delays beyond the grace period will incur standard hourly or full-day charges.
7. Prohibited Uses & Route Rules
- Motorable Roads Only: Vehicles may only be driven on paved, authorized public roads. Extreme riverbed driving, unauthorized off-roading, or track racing is strictly prohibited.
- Sub-leasing: Handing over the rented vehicle to any third party who is not registered on the booking is strictly forbidden.
- Intoxication: Riding under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or any impairing substance is strictly illegal and will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement.

Is a security deposit required?
A security deposit is generally not required. If applicable, the amount will be confirmed before booking. When applicable, any collected deposit is refunded promptly following standard vehicle inspection upon return.
Are helmets provided with the rental?
Yes, one standard ISI-certified helmet is provided free of charge with every rental for the rider’s safety. A pillion helmet can also be arranged on advance request.
What is the minimum age to rent a two-wheeler?
You must be at least 18 years of age with a valid permanent driving licence issued by the Government of India or a valid International Driving Permit for foreign nationals.
Is fuel included in the rental price?
No, fuel is not included. Vehicles are provided with sufficient fuel to reach the nearest petrol bunk. You are expected to return the vehicle with approximately the same fuel level as received.
Do you provide luggage carriers or bungee cords for Royal Enfield hill touring?
Yes, heavy-duty bungee cords and secure luggage tying points can be provided upon advance request for mountain touring towards Dhanaulti, Tehri, or Chakrata. Please specify your luggage needs when reserving on WhatsApp.
